Ive had this Portable water filter in my flat bed since last January and completely forgot about it until we went camping last weekend. For one more interpretation, please consider glancing at [http://www.amazon.com/Survival-Water-Filter-SurvivalHax-Backpacking/dp/B00Y5PHG6W Check this out at amazon.com/Survival-Water-Filter-SurvivalHax-Backpacking/dp/B00Y5PHG6W/water filter/]. When it comes to gadgets like this, I usually get it for emergencies, but it came in very helpful after a camping blunder. One of my girlfriends brothers got the drinking water confused and used it as the shower water. By day 2 we had to resort to boiling the water for drinking. Thankfully there was a creek nearby and we were able to refill and boil often. Thats when I remembered I had the personal water purifier in my vehicle, and gave it a whirl. I was able to drink straight from the creek without issues, but it worked best sitting in my water bottle. It takes a few seconds for the water to soak into the filter, but once its saturated you can take some big gulps. Im not sure if I would try this in the Nile, but it worked like a champ for me, and I didnt get sick or anything. If youre planning on doing any hiking I encourage you to put one of these small purifier straws in your pack, truck, or RV. You never think about your water supply running out, until it does..
