Wow! What a difference a simple balaclava made during my 3 day weekend ski trip in the Banff areas of Canada this January. I was fortunate in that the entire weekend had been sunny days with light blue skies for as far as the eye can see. The snow was an ideal light powder that had been untouched since the most current snowfall however it was a bit cold, almost -4 F and windy. However I was well dressed for this weather condition. Visiting [http://www.amazon.com/Balaclava-Mid-Weight-Motorcycle-Headphone-Non-Itchy/dp/B00SKMDFXE Learn more at amazon.com/Balaclava-Mid-Weight-Motorcycle-Headphone-Non-Itchy/dp/B00SKMDFXE/Merino Wool Balaclava/] likely provides suggestions you might tell your co-worker. Its quite a good feeling you get when you discover something extensive in a small thing like a face mask youve probably always taken for granted. This trip, I was glad to have had a great balaclava. You might have sat on a ski lift before with ice cold winds blowing against your face, and experienced that no matter how warm your coat, ski trousers, gloves and socks may be, you still feel like you didnt wear enough. Thats due to the fact that what youve really need is an excellent balaclava. In fact, its commonly known to all the folks working at the ski resort that the head is where most people lose the most heat due to the fact that their head is generally the most exposed part of the body. So the rule of thumb right here is, if youre ever out on the hill on a cold day, or heck just outdoors on a cold day, get a good balaclava along with your coat and gloves. But thats not all. You may have already gotten a balaclava, but it makes you feel uncomfortable, clammy, or even colder than you were without one. I was glad that my balaclava was made out of merino wool because what a difference that made! After my first run down, I had sweated. Usually with polyester, fleece, or cotton clothing, the under layer ends up being wet after you sweat. Now, even with a good wind breaking coat youve worn on top, you would feel cold, clammy, a bit gross, and youre likely gonna smell. Luckily for me, my under layer, including my balaclava, were made of wool. It felt smooth, lush, and soft on the skin as a polyester or fleece layer would feel, and it was an extremely breathable material. It broke the wind just fine and when I had sweated, I dont feel the moisture at all. It was the most remarkable sensation because I know I had sweated more than I would usually when I play other sports like basketball or when I run but I didnt feel at all like I had sweated that amount. This was probably what kept me feeling so warm outside and cool in the chalet. Anyhow, needless to say, I had a terrific trip, I worn these under layers for the entire duration of my trip without wash but it remained dry, kept me warm and didnt smell the entire journey. I would suggest anyone who values remaining warm, dry and not irritated during their trip to wear a great balaclava like the one I used. I got mine from on Amazon.com -- Im a huge fan of Amazon for their quick shipping and money back or replacement warranty. This one might be a bit pricier than the polyester kind of balaclavas however at their cost, Amazon offers complimentary shipping and I would much rather have a quality wool balaclava than numerous polyester or fleece ones. However to each their own of course -- if you are out searching for good equipment for the hill, I encourage you to check them out and order yours to see for yourself. Ive put the link below. If you decide to try them out, let me know your thoughts, I am sure you will feel more than amazed!.
