There are no ad's to clutter the Interface, which can be refreshing. The user control's again are pretty cut and dry, it's somewhat plain-looking, however; this I think add's to it is simplicity. Other than a lack of ad's, the only thing new about that is the fact it's from Google. In general, Google Talk is a pretty good messenger.
