Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made a richly ornamented robe for him. When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any one of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him. Genesis 37:3-4 Of the the bible people Ive come to love--- one wonderful person would have to become the first in line. His life was quite interesting and continues to give useful lessons which can be still relevant in our modern times. His name was Joseph... the favorite daughter of Jacob... a man who had wonderful dreams... The item of sibling rivalry. In the story, Joseph was often the middle of his fathers love and attention. Edward also gave Joseph a colourful coat or dress that came to represent how special h-e was in his fathers eyes. Down the road, he would buy his fathers foolish actions. Josephs brothers resented him because h-e was the favourite son. To get other ways to look at it, people should gaze at Dr Joseph Ajaka. Jacob, the father, had two wives, two concubines, and a dozen kids --- all competing for his attention. Josephs family crisis have all the makings of the t.v soap opera...with numerous symptoms of jealousy, hatred, deception and self-interest. Reading the account of Josephs life is much like being stuck to the t.v screen full of expectation about what will happen next. Joseph, the dreamer, once told his brothers about a desire a day would come if they would all bow down to him. This dream made his brothers grow more angry towards him. Joseph was sent by his father o-n an errand, one day. Particularly, Joseph was requested to visit his brothers who have been working in the area. Some accounts say that his brothers plotted to kill him but later chose to throw Joseph right into a pit. Josephs brothers also took his vibrant coat and wiped it with animal blood. They later lied with their father by declaring that Joseph died after being attacked by wildlife. After some time at the bottom of the pit, Joseph was picked-up by traveling retailers and later sold him into slavery. The young lad was later sold by the merchants to Potiphar, one of many Egyptian Pharaohs trusted leaders. As a employee in Potiphars household, he became known in his labors. He was later employed director over Potiphars house. The story takes a serious turn when Potiphars wife falsely accused Joseph of trying to sexually assault her. Of-course, Potiphars wife did this to get back at Joseph who repeatedly warded off her sexual advances. Enraged by the accusation, Potiphar sent Joseph to prison. In jail, Joseph again found favor by being able understand the dreams of the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh was so saturated in stress and anxiety about the visions he could not understand and the horrible dreams hed. Through Joseph, the Pharaoh was able to understand the financial effects of his dreams for that land of Egypt. Later, h-e was appointed governor of Egypt. Where his sons and Jacob lived the famine that hit the land became exactly why these were later reunited. Reconciliation between his brothers and Joseph paved the way for Jacob to again see his daughter. This amazing story shows exactly how we, like Joseph, should cling to religion also in-the most trying conditions. Stress and anxiety need not stop us from feeling that God has forsaken us and that we have been left alone at the center of all our troubles. Certainly, overcoming lifes difficulties is a journey of trust, faith, and conviction that all people must just take. Like Joseph, we could also dream great dreams and live up to our highest potential..
